BTASpectacular: Heart of Ice

A masterfully created piece of reinvention and tragedy, as Mr. Freeze is turned into one of the most complex characters in Batman lore. There's a reason why Heart of Ice is referred to repeatedly as the greatest episode in the series.

BTASpectacular: It's Never Too Late

A quiet, personal episode that doesn't see the use of a well established villain. How successful are the creators at making us sympathize with a mob boss who has his life crumbling around him?

BTASpectacular: Nothing To Fear

Robberies and vandalism have hit Gotham City, primarily targeting the university. After being ripped apart verbally by one Dr. Long, who knew Thomas Wayne, Bruce exits the charity event he is attending. From a helicopter, Scarecrow and his two henchmen break into a bank. Confronted by a security guard, Scarecrow uses his fear gas to make the man hallucinate spiders before telling his henchmen to only grab a handful of money and burn the rest. Batman arrives ready with a gasmask (because he's Batman).

At the Batcave, Robin attempts to talk Batman into relaxing for the holiday and watching It's A Wonderful Life. Once home after a quick patrol, the two finally sit to watch the film, only to find that The Joker has high-jacked Gotham's channels as a 'special' for Batman. BTASpectacular: Introduction

Tomorrow marks a very special day, as it brings about the 25th anniversary of Batman: The Animated Series. There's a lot to say about the series, and I have already boy-howdy, but there's also not much to say at all. I mean, what could be said that hasn't already? It changed so much in terms of entertainment aimed primarily at children. It consistently ranks amongst the top of 'Greatest Animated Series Ever Made' lists. It has been widely praised over the last two and a half decades for its style, writing, voice acting, and music. And all of it has been beyond well-earned and deserved.
